Allison Tambornini

Allison (she/her) is a Supervisee in Social Work who earned her Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2021 and is working toward becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

With more than six years of experience, Allison has supported individuals from diverse backgrounds navigating behavioral and emotional health concerns, trauma, complex diagnoses, and long-term disabilities. She has worked with children and adolescents through trauma-informed psychoeducation and DBT skills groups, and has extensive experience providing vocational counseling and life skills coaching to adolescents, adults, and older adults with physical, mental, and developmental disabilities, including veterans living with traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Allison is passionate about helping individuals ages 10 and up navigate life transitions, family conflict, neurodivergence, career development, and the unique challenges that can come with living with a disability. She strives to create a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to better understand themselves, build practical coping skills, strengthen relationships, and move through life’s challenges with greater confidence and self-compassion. Her approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. Antiracism and cultural humility guide her practice.
