Celina Pearson


Celina Pearson (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received both her M.A.ED in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and her B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Tech.
Celina has experience working with a wide variety of individuals in community mental health and outpatient counseling settings.

Celina is passionate about working with individuals with intersectional identities, supporting them in understanding and processing how overlapping factors of disability, culture, identity, and broader societal systems can have a complex impact on mental health. She recognizes that progress is frequently nonlinear, and advocates for self-compassion and non-judgment to encourage sustainability throughout the healing process.

Her approach is collaborative, warm, centers clients’ lived experience, and utilizes humor and a strengths-based approach to encourage autonomy and self-efficacy.

Specialties

Celina is Neurodiversity and LGBTQIA-affirming, and works with adults and adolescents from ages 13 and up. She has experience supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, ASD, bipolar disorder, life transitions, and self-esteem.

Treatment Modalities

Celina utilizes an eclectic, primarily person-centered approach, drawing from numerous trauma-informed modalities to best match each client and their goals. Some of the modalities she integrates include dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), multicultural counseling, and psychodynamic therapy.
