Allison Tambornini
Allison (she/her) is a Supervisee in Social Work who completed the MSW program at VCU in 2021 and is now working towards becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Allison has over five years of experience supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds to cope with complex diagnoses, trauma, and long-term disabilities. She has worked with children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional health needs, providing trauma-informed psychoeducation and leading DBT skills groups. Allison also served as a vocational counselor and life skills coach, providing job coaching and skill-building to adolescents, adults, and older adults with physical, mental, and developmental disabilities, including veterans experiencing traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Allison is passionate about empowering individuals of all ages to navigate life challenges with confidence, creativity, and self-compassion. She promotes autonomy, collaboration, and authenticity, and strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for individuals to be themselves. Her approach is holistic, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. She meets individuals where they are, incorporating a mind-body awareness and finding balance across physical and psychological wellbeing. She believes that wellness is shaped by both individual action and the accessibility of necessary systems, resources, and relationships. Antiracism and cultural humility guide her practice. She would be honored to support you in your healing journey, one step at a time.
