Angela DeBoard

Angela DeBoard (she/her) obtained her LPC from Liberty University and has years of experience working in community agency, Intensive In-Home, Mental Health Skill Building, and Outpatient settings. Angela has experience working with children as young as 5, tweens, teens, adults, and older adults 65+, and couples. Angela believes that it is important to meet the client where they are at, providing a safe, friendly, and accepting space to all who enter. Angela believes that each person is unique, so should be the therapeutic approach. Angela utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy by pulling from different theoretical approaches to meet the needs of each individual client.  Angela promotes the importance of healthy and honest communication, self-care, and use of mindfulness and coping skills.

Specialties

Angela’s areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, domestic violence, grief, trauma, life stressors and transitions, communication/relationship concerns, boundaries, and self-esteem. Angela works with clients who are 5 years old through later adulthood. Angela is LGBTQIA+ affirming.

Treatment Modalities

Angela uses a variety of therapeutic modalities with her clients including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, and Trauma Informed Therapy.
