Kelly Higgins
Kelly (she/her) is a recent graduate of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling MA program at JMU and is now working toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She has previously worked in community-based counseling settings serving a wide array of clientele. Kelly has experience working with clients ranging anywhere from adolescence to older adulthood. Whether it’s walking alongside her clients in processing trauma, exploring their complex identities and values, navigating significant life transitions, or learning everyday coping skills for overcoming complicated emotions, Kelly meets each of her client’s needs with positive, unconditional support and affirmation. Kelly strongly believes in meeting clients where they are and exploring their struggles through their own unique perspectives of the world. Kelly will work with the client to understand their goals and expectations for the counseling space, and will do everything in her power to provide the client with the necessary skills, resources, and next steps to accomplish those goals. Kelly offers a compassionate, genuine, and honest space for clients to authentically be themselves and bravely overcome the challenges they face in everyday life.
