Alicyne King-Washington


Alicyne King-Washington (she/her) is currently on the path to obtaining her License to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).  She works with individuals from a person-centered, trauma-informed, strength-based, and mindfulness approach. Alicyne is dedicated to collaborating with clients to foster empowerment by addressing their concerns, recognizing their strengths, and achieving goals they have set for themselves.

Alicyne has experience working in the educational setting with adolescents (ages 5-16), adults, and families focusing on anxiety, depression, life transition, social development, problem solving, stress management, relationship building and self-esteem. She also has experience working with children and their families within the special education setting developing and implementing individualized education plans. Alicyne aims tocollaborate with clients from diverse backgrounds to help them discover a sense of self and confidence. She is committed to creating a supportive and warm environment where individuals and families can confront challenges, recognize their strengths, and build resilience throughout their journey.

Specialties

Alicyne works with individuals aged 11 and older, families, and women. Her specialties include managing anxiety, depression, social development, life transitions, and fostering healthy relationships.  Alicyne is LGBTQIA2+ affirmative.

Modalities

Alicyne uses various therapeutic modalities with her clients to help support their specific needs. She incorporates systems theory, attachment theory, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused therapy, strengths based, and mindfulness therapy.  Alicyne is looking forward to expanding her therapeutic modalities to include perinatal mental health and art therapy.

Outside of her professional life, Alicyne enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her interests include reading, nature walks, shopping at Target, curating mood playlists, and traveling.

Alicyne will be supervised by Jane Rolander, LCSW.
