Christina Carter-Uriss
Christina Carter-Uriss (she/her) received her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Virginia Commonwealth University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Christina has experience working with multidisciplinary teams in community mental health, inpatient healthcare, non-profit, and private practice settings. She has experience with biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning, individual and group therapy as well as with connecting clients and families to services within the community.
Christina offers a safe, nonjudgmental space to partner together to navigate through challenges and to achieve life goals.
Specialties
Christina enjoys working with clients over 16 years old with depression, anxiety, and co-occurring substance use disorders as well as those experiencing grief, challenging life transitions, relationship issues, and family of origin issues. Christina is LGBTQIA+ affirming.
Treatment Modalities
Christina uses a variety of of trauma-informed therapeutic modalities with her clients to include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Christina utilizes person-centered and strengths-based approaches.
