Tisha Nicholson

Tisha Nicholson (she/her) is a compassionate and non-judgemental licensed professional counselor (LPC) with experience in counseling and supporting adults from various socio-economic backgrounds. She provides a safe-space for individuals to process thoughts and feelings and navigate complex emotionality from a trauma-informed, person-centered approach. Tisha believes that each person is the expert in their personal healing journey and through self-awareness, patience and comforting guidance, emotional regulation and well-being can be restored. Prior to her current role with Healing Circle Counseling, Tisha worked as a Clinician and Substance Abuse Counselor where she provided individual and group therapy to those needing clinical support along their road to recovery. Tisha was instrumental in the development of trauma group therapy where clients were able to grow their capacity and understand the root cause of their substance use disorders. In individual therapy, Tisha uses various therapeutic methods in collaboration with client goals and expectations to meet desired outcomes.

Tisha has experience working with adults that are experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, panic, substance abuse and working through daily stress whilst maintaining balance thru life’s transitions. Tisha is LGBTQIA2+ affirmative.

Modalities

Tisha practices from various therapeutic modalities to assist clients in navigating their specific circumstances and accompanying emotionality. She uses an integrative model including trauma-informed, person-centered therapy from an emotional and somatic based perspective. She additionally incorporates Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Psychoeducational techniques. Tisha remains dedicated to increasing her knowledge base in trauma-informed modalities including hypnosis and EMDR.
